Imagine now that sponge in you dishwasher and all the suds it will generate from the soap retained in the sponge. Your dishwasher will fill up with suds which will cause it to leak & the cleaning results will be very disappointing.

Trying to find an easy way to clean sponges? Here is the best way to clean a sponge. Wet the sponge completely and do not allow the sponge to dry. Then put the sponge in the microwave for ONE minute. One minute will kill about half the bacteria, but TWO minutes will kill around 99% of the living bacteria. Before the next use, make sure the sponge has cooled completely. Whatever you do, do NOT clean in a dishwasher!
